Row

These are some of my students and this is the canoe we use in their modern number, which has turned out to be the most beautiful thing I have created. I love the music and I love to watch them move across the stage as if to push through the water.  They all try so hard to ensure that my vision is carried out and I love them all for it.  As we head into the final days before competition I want them to know how proud I am of them for how hard they work, for bonding with the canoe, that is not beautiful on the outside but has sailed many waters and has many stories none the less, for not judging me or my quirky moves and for embracing my vision.
... and both shall row,
My love and I.

Beautiful Cancun

What a wonderful holiday!  We really enjoyed our time with my sister and brother-in-law.  For the majority of the days we sat by the pool or on the beach and watched the ocean.  We did a little shopping and a lot of card playing at night.  The restaurants were nice and the food was good.  There really wasn't a cloudy day.... can't wait until we see the mexican sunset again.

Hola Amigos

Well we are off again, Darren & I are going to head south once again but this time with my sister and brother-in-law.  I am looking forward to a fun week of sun, pool and card playing.  The boys will be at home with Grandpa doing the bachelor thing.  Hopefully when we get back it will look more like spring.  I am very tired of the weather as are most people.  I will post pictures as I get them.  See you soon.

Spring can't come soon enough...

Is it spring yet?  I can barely wait. I seem to be thinking about my patio and about planting flowers alot lately. Maybe it is being away for a week of sunshine that has me thinking about spring.
I have also been trying to decide how to finish up some of the rooms in the house.  I know we just moved in but it takes time to warm up the space and get it just right!  I have started with the kitchen and living room, bought a plant and planter, changed some light fixtures and have hung some wallpaper up with tape to see how it looks.  I just love investing time in my home, my space.  Next I want to fix up the bedroom.... lots of space but not nearly warm or relaxing enough.  My plan is to get these projects done before I begin on the backyard.... so I am going to work fast!
What will the next chapter in "Our Story" unfold?

Tree Tops & Scary Swings

We started out the morning with a lesson on safety... it was all very simple as the guides which there were 5 of them for our group of 14.  They put all the harnesses on and attached and unattached us to the line every jump.  We were at the max 100 feet above the ground.  It is winter so everything is not as lush and green as it is in the summer but it was beautiful all the same.  I was not really nervous until we had to lower ourselves to the ground.  I found swinging from tree to tree alot of fun but getting down was another story!  The boys really enjoyed it and we pretty much let them go, without instruction from mom!  We bought the pictures from the tour as we were not allowed to bring camera's.  I was disappointed to say the least but the photo's they took were probably much better than the ones I would have gotten.

I am glad that we spent the afternoon above the trees in the jungle.  It was well worth it!

Aargh! Pirates

Today we took a pirate cruise that included snorkeling and a banana boat ride.  We spent some time on a private beach and had lunch in the galley.  There was alot of entertainment and we pretty much had the ship to ourselves.

This morning we went across the street to the plaza for a Starbucks and walked around a bit.  We spent the afternoon in the ocean and at the pool where the sun caught each of us and gave us a nice kiss.... owee!  Tonight we will dine in the mexican restaurant and then catch the evening show.  The evening shows have turned out to be Jordan's favorite part, even though he will not admit that.
Tomorrow we spend the morning above the palm trees. I am not quite sure about this one but I will try because I really want to get some photo's.
Until tomorrow then....

Hola Amigos

Well today we started the day with a buffet breakfast and a refreshing swim in the pool.  The kids can't get enough of the pool.  We did get a chance to try out the boogie boards in the ocean.  It was alot stronger than the kids imagined.  Alot of salt water was consumed.... in fact we had to stop due to the amount of sand and salt the kids swallowed.  They enjoyed it.  We had lunch which was primarily carbohydrate based as the kids were very hungry after the beating the ocean gave them.
We booked a couple of tours for the week that will include a pirate ship cruise/snokeling and a zip lineing tour.  I am okay with the ship but hanging 90 feet over the ground is making my palms sweat just thinking about it.  However Jordan is really looking forward to it so who am I to stand in his way and lets not forget how much I love taking pictures and I imagine they will be incredible so long as I don't drop the camera.
We are looking forward to tomorrow's tour but in the mean time we are going to eat at the chinese buffet and then play cards... or perhaps we will take in the evening show.  Last night we watched the magic show.  It was pretty entertaining.  I know that the time spent hear is really going to be something the kids remember so we are trying to make it the best we can.
